Ingredients:

  • 4 organic medium apples
  • 1 cup Golden Age Jams Apple Butter (all-natural and preservative-free)
  • 1/2 cup of natural sweetener (honey or maple syrup are good choices)
  • 1/2 cup of natural light corn syrup (i.e. agave nectar)
  • 1/2 cup organic heavy cream
  • 1/4 cup unsalted organic butter
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Pinch of natural sea salt
  • Wooden skewers
  • Chopped nuts (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Wash and dry the apples. Insert a wooden skewer into the stem end of each apple.

  2. In a small saucepan, combine the Golden Age Jams Apple Butter, natural sweetener, and natural light corn syrup. Heat the mixture over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until it comes to a boil.

  3. Once the mixture is boiling, continue for 10-12 minutes or until it reaches 250°F on a candy thermometer. (Keep a close eye on it to avoid burning.)

  4. Remove the pan from the heat and carefully stir in the organic heavy cream, unsalted organic butter, pure vanilla extract, and a pinch of natural sea salt. These all-natural ingredients will add depth and balance to our caramel coating.

  5. Dip each apple into the caramel mixture, using a spoon to help coat the apple evenly. Consider rolling the caramel-coated apples in chopped nuts, such as peanuts, almonds, or pecans, for a crunchy and flavorful twist. Allow any excess caramel to drip off before placing the apple on a sheet of wax paper to cool and harden.

  6. Once the caramel has hardened, serve and enjoy! For extra flair serve the Apple Butter Caramel Apples on a platter garnished with decorative fall leaves or foliage.

Enjoy the rich and decadent combination of Golden Age Jams Apple Butter and homemade caramel. The apple butter adds a subtle sweetness and warmth to the caramel, making it even more irresistible. These All-Natural Apple Butter Caramel Apples are a delicious treat for any fall occasion and are made even better with the use of all-natural, organic ingredients. Plus, they are easy to make and perfect for sharing with family and friends.
