Sweet and Comforting: Apple Butter Pie Recipe

Ingredients:

For the homemade pie crust: 1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour 1/2 teaspoon salt 1/2 cup cold unsalted butter, cubed 3-4 tablespoons ice-cold water

For the filling: 1 1/2 cups Golden Age Jams Saucy Sweetie Apple Butter 3 large eggs 1/2 cup granulated sugar 1/2 cup light brown sugar 1/2 teaspoon salt 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves 1 cup heavy cream

For serving: Whipped cream (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F.

  2. For the homemade pie crust, in a large bowl, combine the flour and salt. Cut in the cold butter using a pastry cutter or your fingertips until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Gradually add ice-cold water, a tablespoon at a time, mixing gently until the dough just comes together. Form the dough into a disc, wrap it in plastic wrap, and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.

  3. On a lightly floured surface, roll out the chilled pie dough to fit a 9-inch pie dish. Transfer the dough to the pie dish and crimp the edges. Alternatively, you can use a pre-made pie crust.

  4. In a medium bowl, whisk together the Golden Age Jams Saucy Sweetie Apple Butter, eggs, granulated sugar, brown sugar, salt, cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg, and cloves.

  5. Gradually whisk in the heavy cream until the mixture is smooth.

  6. Pour the filling into the prepared pie crust.

  7. Bake for 45-50 minutes or until the filling is set and the crust is golden brown.

  8. Remove the pie from the oven and allow it to cool to room temperature before serving.

  9. Serve with whipped cream, if desired.

This Apple Butter Pie made with Golden Age Jams Saucy Sweetie flavor offers a delightful sweetness and warmth, while the blend of spices provides a comforting taste. The homemade pie crust adds a touch of traditional charm to this delicious dessert, perfect for any occasion. For those who prefer a simpler approach, using a pre-made pie crust is an excellent alternative.
